The Long-Life Cow project of Michael Kreuzer and Florian Grandl is highlighted in the July issue of NZZ Folio on cows.

In his article, NZZ Folio's Samuel Misteli presents the Long Life Cow project (LLC) of WFSC member Michael Kreuzer and PhD student Florian Grandl by introduces Oxala, one of the cows from the experiment. While researchers usually look at young cows, the team of Michael Kreuzer and Florian Grandl was the first to look at methane emissions of mixed-age groups of cows. They found that methane emissions of milk cows decrease in cows after the age of five years (emissions per liter of milk).
The article further highlights other research projects from the Animal Nutrition Group.
