Eligibility

Principal Investigators must be current members of the World Food System Center. See individual calls for additional requirements.

Co-applicants can be from the ETH, Eawag, or any other research institutions in Switzerland or abroad.

Deadlines and Notification

The deadline for submitting proposals is the same each year for all calls and programs: 1 November, 17.00 h (CET).

Decisions will be communicated approximately three months after the submission deadline.

Evaluation and Selection

The WFS Grants evaluation and selection procedure has been established in accordance with the policies of the ETH Zurich Vice President Research and Corporate Relations.

All projects submitted will be reviewed by an associated sub-committee of the Research Commission of the ETH Zurich (short: ASC) that was specially created for the World Food System Grants platform. This sub-committee includes a representative from the ETH Research Commission, two representatives from the WFSC Steering Committee, as well as a number of selected external experts who represent a variety of relevant disciplines.

As a rule, the proposals will be evaluated by the ASC. In cases where the ASC needs additional expertise to appropriately evaluate a proposal, external reviews will be solicited.

The Vice President Research and Corporate Relations will make the final decision regarding which projects are funded based on the final recommendation of the ASC.

Please review individual call documentation for additional details.

Submission Guidelines
