Producing enough food to feed the ever growing population is one of the world’s biggest global challenges, and Queen’s University Belfast invited food system and safety experts to join in a debate on the challenges faced. Nearly 200 people came to hear the thoughts of WFSC Executive Director Michelle Grant as well as Professor Chris Elliott, founder of the Institute for Global Food Security at Queen’s University Belfast at the event on 20 September. They discussed issues concerning integrity of the supply system, food production as well as access, and food fraud.
